Praktik i brancheafdelingen på CPH:DOX

Som praktikant i brancheafdelingen CPH:Industry oplever du filmbranchen bag kulisserne og får indsigt i hvordan film bliver finansieret, produceret og lanceret.

Du får samtidig et unikt indblik i det internationale dokumentarfilmmiljø af producenter, finansiører, fonde, salgsagenter og distribution. CPH:Industry består af tre overordnede projekter med dertilhørende opgaver:

* CPH:Forum er en platform, hvor ca. 35 nye filmprojekter bliver pitchet til et publikum af potentielle co-producenter, finansiører, købere mfl. Som praktikant i CPH:Forum er du med til at lave research på nye projekter, den praktiske forberedelse og afviklingen i marts under festivalen.

* CPH:Conference er en fem-dages konference på Kunsthal Charlottenborg under CPH:DOX, hvor hver dag er dedikeret til et tema fra videnskab over teknologi til kunst. Som praktikant får du indblik i hvordan et internationalt event udvikles og produceres, fra kontakten med talere og kuratorer til den praktiske afvikling. 

* CPH:LAB er et innovativt talentudviklingsprogram i feltet mellem kunst og teknologi. Her vil du som praktikant være involveret i at kommunikere med mentorer og deltagere, og i praktisk produktion.

Arbejdsfordelingen i CPH:Industry er individuelt tilrettelagt og baseret på ønsker og kompetencer hos den enkelte praktikant, som modtager løbende evealuering og sparring. Udover de opgaver, som er forbundet med de tre projekter ovenfor, vil du få ansvar for en række mindre projekter under vejledning af afdelingens ledere.

Uafhængighed, ansvar og en høj grad af opmærksomhed omkring detaljen er vigtige kompetencer, sammen med en god indstilling til samarbejde, åben kommunikation og villighed til at lære.

Internship in the Industry Department

Interns at the CPH:INDUSTRY department will see how the film industry is working behind the scenes, and how new movies are being made. They will get a unique insight into the international documentary film community, its institutions and key players and learn more about how film projects are matched with the right partners, investors, sales agents and distributors.

Between September/October 2020 and March 2021, CPH:INDUSTRY interns will take an active part at the preparation of main CPH:DOX events organized for film professionals, who will join the festival March 22-26, 2020;

CPH:FORUM interns will assist in scouting film projects from all over the world, communicate with interested producers and filmmakers and take part in the research of international partners to help finance and distribute the future films. They will actively participate in the preparation of the Forum main working print material - CPH:INDUSTRY catalogue and during the event itself, coordinate a team of volunteers.

CPH:CONFERENCE interns will see how a big international conference is organised, what needs to be prepared in terms of the technical equipment, locations, presentation media gathering, schedules and timetables. They will communicate with speakers and curators, assist the preparation of the production plans, coordinate a team of volunteers, prepare the venue and document the event.

CPH:LAB interns will participate in the production of an innovative professional training program, communicate with the mentors and participants, see the production of an online workshop, participate in the communication of the program, documenting it on the web and in a printed catalogue.

The job descriptions of the members of CPH:INDUSTRY team is individualized based on the learning ambitions and future professional needs of each intern, and is regularly discussed and evaluated to bring benefits to the intern’s university curriculum. Besides assistance on the realisation of big events (as above), the interns are given a responsibility to manage smaller projects/events under the supervision of the CPH:INDUSTRY team to master management/ project-lead skills and competencies. 

Independence, a sense of an ownership, responsibility and a high level of attention to detail are key competencies needed. Collaborative spirit, open communication and eagerness to learn are necessary assets to manage at times pressured festival production.
